Black Caviar has drawn barrier six in a field of nine in the Group One William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Rated the world’s best sprinter, the unbeaten Black Caviar is out to land her 11th straight win and her fourth successive Group One victory.
Among her opposition are three of her stablemates from the dominant Peter Moody stable in Hinchinbrook (barrier five), Master Harry (three) and Panipique (eight).
Fellow Caulfield trainer Mick Price is taking on the champion mare with two runners in True Persuasion, drawn in gate four, and Das Machen, who has the inside barrier.
Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily, runner-up to Black Caviar in the Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington last start, has drawn barrier seven.
Making up the field are King Pulse, who drew the outside gate, and Perturbo (barrier two).
Both Crystal Lily and Panipique are also final acceptors for Saturday’s Group One Sportingbet Classic (1200m) at Morphettville.
