Bella Nipotina caused a bit of an upset winning the Quezette Stakes at Caulfield
The Lindsay Park trained Bella Nipotina jumped as the only maiden in the Group Three Quezette Stakes at Caulfield but she was too quick for her more fancied rivals.
Bella Nipotina showed a sustained burst of speed to sit on pace and kick clear and hold off the big field in what was rated as an open edition of the Quezette Stakes which proved to be correct.
The daughter of Pride Of Dubai was one of the more experienced horses in the race but the only one not to have a win to her name but that didn’t stop the Lindsay Park filly winning quite comfortably on the line.
Bella Nipotina has shown plenty of ability in her short career having placed in the rich Inglis 2YO and Inglis Millennium although she had struggled to break through for that important win until today with the training operation now hoping she can go on with it during the Spring where the G1 Thousand Guineas is likely to be her target.
Favourite Parlophone put on a show at the jump and is required to trial prior to racing again.
