Anti-horse racing activists have sent out “fraudulent” text message appear to be from Queensland Health calling for Prime Minister Scott Morrison to ban horse racing and stop the spread of COVID-19.
Anti-horse racing activists sent the message on Thursday using the name “QLDHealth” with a link to a change.org petition calling for horse racing to be banned.
“Sign this petition to put horse racing on HOLD and stop the spread of COVID-19,” the fake text read.
“It is definitely fraudulent and not something we would send out. We are working to figure out how to happened,” a Qld Health spokesman told SkyNews.
