Another international contender has been ruled out of The Everest with American trainer Wesley Ward confirming that he will not be aiming a runner at the race this year.
Ward initially had the American sprinter Bound For Nowhere earmarked for the $10m race but those plans changed after a disappointing run in the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
Bound For Nowhere isn’t the only Everest casualty coming out of the French Group One race. The Aiden O’Brien trained Caravaggio also appears unlikely to travel to Australia after pulling up sore following a disappointing 6th in the Prix Maurice de Gheest.
The Ward trained Lady Aurelia was also a chance to run in The Everest but those plans have been sidelined for at least a year as the three-year-old aims at targets closer to home.
The Everest will be run on Saturday the 14th of October, 2017 at Randwick racecourse.
