The Richard and Chantelle Jolly trained All Banter landed her third successive win under an inch perfect ride by Craig Williams when adding the Listed W J Adams Stakes at Caulfield to her list of victories.
All Banter set her rivals to task to try and run her down in the home straight and while it looked like she was under threat halfway down the home stretch, Williams was biding his time, nursing his mount along and waiting as long as he could before giving All Banter the green light to quicken.
When he did, All Banter responded well and, for a moment she looked to have the race comfortably won, but it did get tight inside the final 75m as Causeway Girl began to close with every stride.
Williams’ judgement proved to be spot on though and the three-year-old filly stayed on just long enough to keep Causeway Girl at bay by a stride.
All Banter had finished second on her debut back in May 2020. Since then, she has won four of her subsequent six starts.
Her only defeat during that time came in the Listed Lightning Stakes in South Australia last July, but she put that record straight today landing her first Black Type win.
