A lengthy delay at today’s Gawler meeting has reportedly been caused by a member of the track staff being hit by one of the on-course ambulances during the first race on the card.
Broadcaster Racing.com is reporting that the 20-year-old staff member went to move one of the hurdles when he stepped in-front of the ambulance.
Early reports suggest the track staff member is conscious but has has lower-body soreness. He has been taken to a local hospital for further checks.
The second race of the meeting was delayed for approximately 90 minutes following the incident.
A member of staff has been hit by an ambulance at Gawler and there will be an indefinite delay.
