Punters have been left feeling like they have been shafted by Thoroughbred Racing South Australia after a decision to shorten race two at Balaklava from 1200m to 1050m twenty minutes prior to the race.
Punters who had placed bets on race two at Balaklava prior to the decision have turned to social media to voice their disgruntlement saying what happened ‘was not good enough’.
I backed a horse in race 2 at Balaklava based on the 1200m being suitable, wouldn’t think what’s happened is good enough @TheRacesSA

To make matters worse twitter user @adammintz1 pointed out two horses jumped from incorrect barriers in the race.
@TRSAStewards are you aware that 2 and 11 jumped from the wrong gates in Race 2 at Balaklava?

The decision to shorten the race was due to a section of the track being ruled unsuitable to race on.
