Torio’s Quest, the winner of the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes, has been heavily backed at Sportingbet Australia to repeat the dose in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas at the Gold Coast.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said the Brett Partelle trained colt has shortened from $15 to $9 this week after a series of massive bets were placed on him.
“The rush started with a bet of $10,000 at $15 on Friday and then we took more money at $13 before a bet of $10,000 each way at $11 arrived this morning from another punter,†Sullivan said.
“We are now standing him for over $250,000 in what has clearly been the best early go in either of the Magic Millions races.
“His win at Wyong was impressive and with one of the major players in Toorak Toff coming out the $15 looks very good shopping now.â€
Squamosa retains favouritism at $2.90 with Sportingbet ahead of Queenslander Spirit of Boom at $7.00 with Torio’s Quest and Top Drop on the third line at $9.00.
Squamosa is still the clear favourite at $2.90 and while he has been a little easy so far, I have no doubt punters will step into him if he resumes in style this Sunday,†Sullivan said.
