Tony Nicconi has been a popular horse with punters, winning 2/2 and those at Sportsbet are expecting him to make it 3/3 in the McNeil Stakes (1200m) this Saturday at Caulfield.
The Hayes/Dabernig trained three year old was solid enough when winning the Vain Stakes a fortnight back, sitting on speed and proving too good after being hammered by punters. Nolen remains on and the horse draws well once again. He He opened $4.40 and got down to $4 but is now settled at $4.20.
The field is full of quality, with last start Group l winner Seabrook sitting at $6, in from $6.50. A very interesting runner is Aylmerton, who is $6.50-$7 but on talent, is certainly highly regarded.
The early speck has been for Thorondor ($20-$16) despite bringing inferior form.
