As it stands right now, Sportsbet.com.au has Classique Legend as favourite for the TAB Everest (1200m) this Saturday at Randwick but a proven big time performer is a key firmer.
Nature Strip was as much as $8 after his defeat in the Premiere, but bookies and punters realised that was silly. He opened $6 after the barrier draw on Tuesday and has been backed with confidence, bottoming out at $4.20, but given the longest price favourite in three years of the race was $4.80, that was short, and he’s now at $5.
Favourite for the race is Classique Legend, who beat home Nature Strip in the Premiere. He is $4.50 out to $4.60 but rock solid. Gytrash is hovering around the $6-$6.50 mark while Premiere winner Libertini has been very easy, now as an $9 chance after opening $6.50.
Best backed at odds has clearly been Behemoth, who opened $13 and is now a $9.50 chance.
