Team Hawkes filly heads odds in the Phar Lap Stakes

Makarena is the Ladbrokes.com.au favourite for the Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) this Saturday at Rosehill.

The Team Hawkes trained filly was far from disgraced in defeat in the Surround and despite 1500m being a query, she has home track advantage and is hard fit. She holds the call at $4.20.

Saltcoats sits on the second line of betting at $4.80, clear of Les Vampires at $5. Tutta La Vita is at $10 and rock solid after an eye catching effort in the Surround.
