Star mares head odds in the G2 Apollo Stakes

Funstar has opened as favourite in Saturday's G2 Apollo Stakes

Champion mare Verry Elleegant has been the key early firmer with TAB in their all in market for the Apollo Stakes (1400m) this Saturday at Randwick.

The multiple Group l winner resumes and has looked great in trials and in a piece of work last Saturday. $6 was her opening price and that has trimmed into $4.50.

Favourite for the race is another quality mare and a stablemate in the shape of Funstar, who is at $3.50. Another Waller runner has firmed in the market, with Kolding in a point from $8.

Mugatoo opened $4.50 and is now at $5 with the early support for Verry Elleegant.
