Hinkler Handicap winner Scallopini is the favourite to continue his winning ways when he contests the Ascot Handicap (1200m) this Saturday at Eagle Farm.
The Steve O’Dea trained sprinter really finished best to nail Boomtown Lass ($4.80) on the peg and will only be better suited at 1200m, like several that come through the Hinkler. He heads the market at $3.70.
Boomtown Lass is the second favourite ahead of Brave Song, who is a $5 chance. Grey Shadow, who was unlucky in the Hinkler, looks a bit of value at around the $7.50 mark.
