Punters snap up silly odds for Star at Rosehill

Sportsbet.com.au punters are looking for value when it comes to the Magic Night Stakes (1200m) this Saturday at Rosehill, with a Victorian at huge odds met with some decent support.

Meridian Star, trained by Richard Laming, won on debut at Bendigo, beating home the highly touted Overstep. That form does read well, so it’s no surprise to see the daughter of Stratum with support. She opened silly odds at $81, and is now at $31 after touching $19.

Favourite for the race is Prompt Response, and she has been easy, out to $2.90 from $2.60, as has Calliope ($3.60-$3.70).

Team Hawkes first starter Larapineta ($17-$15) has been kept very safe.
