Universal Law has been a costly conveyance this time in but Sportsbet.com.au punters are keeping the faith in him this Saturday when he steps up to blacktype level in the Carbine Club Of WA Stakes (1400m) at Ascot.
The Team Williams runner, to be steered by Douglas Whyte, ran over the mile last Saturday and closed off strongly to run second to Pounamu. The drop back to 1400m is a little concern, but not to the punters. He opened $11 and has been smashed, now into $5.50.
Special Delivery, another Bob Peters runner, has also had support, opening $7 and trimming to $6.50 but is now back out to $7.00. Favourite for the race is the stablemate of Universal Law, Chocolate Holic, who had little luck last week, and even with Oliver steering, he has no friends. He opened $3.00 and has eased to $3.60.
