Sportsbet.com.au punters are rallying around a Darren Weir runner in the Geelong Cup (2400m) this Wednesday, and it’s not the favourite Gallic Chieftain.
It is indeed Kellstorm. He had been spanking them in Adelaide before going to the Bart Cummings where he closed off strongly to run third to Amelie’s Star. Punters are giving him a strong chance of winning here, backing him into $5.50 from $6.50.
Favourite for the race is Gallic Chieftain. He is $3.20 and very solid after opening that price and touching $3.30. He does hold the call over Kellstorm, with the next best being Inglis Cup winner Wheal Leisure ($6.50-$7).
There has been specking for Gallante ($34-$21-$26) despite a break after his flop in the Naturalism first up.
