Sportsbet.com.au have got their markets out for racing this Saturday, and we have tried to find a runner from each city that appears overs in betting, and hopefully we can continue on after finding Onpicalo at $8.50 last week.
Flemington Race Six Number 8 Wells ($17):
Looks the clear value in a tough race. Star jumper who is very capable on the flat so I am giving him serious respect here. He has run in this race twice, back in 2013 and 2014, both times running okay without winning. He ran behind De Little Engine over 2800m here last time out and stuck on well for a horse looking for steeples. Two miles will be suitable for him and is a definite knockout chance.
Rosehill Race Three Number 1 New Universe ($2.20):
Anyting better than even money looks a steal. Had him marked around $1.50. Potential Group l performer who created a big impression at his Australian debut here a fortnight back. Was a mile back in the run but when Tommy gave him clear air out wide, he savaged the line despite not being fully ridden out and won with class/authority. I’m sure he’ll be up north after this, and I think he can go there with two wins on the board.
Doomben Race Seven Number 5 Star Exhibit ($13):
In a very tough edition of the Doomben Cup, this horse does look the overs. Star stayer from WA who made his Victorian debut for Weir at Caulfield and despite sitting wide throughout, he proved far too good. Draws to get a lovely run near the speed and gets Blake Shinn steering. He’ll take some beating.
Morphettville Race Seven Number 15 Kaepernick ($31):
Talented yet frustrating sprinter for Team Hawkes. He comes through the McKay over 1100m here a fortnight back and got well out of his ground but savaged the line to just miss out on the third, running third to Karacatis. 1200m off a fast speed looks ideal for this horse and he is Group l class when right.
