Caulfield Race Five Number 9 Thames Court ($19.00):
Looks to be a smart filly for David Brideoake. Debuted on the Pakenham Synthetic and led all the way for a very dominant win, and she did run smart time. Recent weeks have seen the Pakenham Synthetic form stand up on Saturdays. Should get a lovely run from an inside gate and seems great overs at $19.
Randwick Race Three Number 1 Oxford Poet ($11.00):
Stakes performer for Kim Waugh who resumes here. He placed in the Provincial Championship Final and then placed in the Luskin Star Stakes during the Scone Carnival. Goes well fresh and he bolted up in a recent trial on his home track at Wyong. Can’t comprehend why he is $11.
Doomben Race Two Number 1 Lyric ($21.00):
Greg Hickman trained galloper that returns to Brisbane after a couple of runs in Sydney, including a run behind Fell Swoop, who has since won a Stakes race. He hasn’t missed a place in three runs at Doomben and despite the wide gate he can finish off very strongly, and this race isn’t overly strong.
Morphettville Race One Number 2 Wexford Town ($9.00):
Really surprised this horse has opened $9. He started this price when resuming over 2040m at Moonee Valley and he folded up after leading, running last. That race had very good depth to it, and he was crunched in betting. He should be $4-$5 to win this race, not $9.
