Noble Boy has been installed a short-priced favourite to take out the Sera Country Championships qualifier (1400 metres) at Goulburn this Saturday afternoon.
Trained by Todd Blowes at Queanbeyan, the gelding opened $2.50 favourite for the race as he heads in to it unbeaten in four career outings. Not only is he at the top of the market for this race but the son of Bon Hoffa is also the one to beat, according to the betting, for the rich $500,000 Final at Randwick on April 6.
Noble Boy opened at $4 in the Grand Final market but is now a $3.50 favourite and the only one in single figures.
TAB customers haven’t wasted any time jumping on Noble Boy for Saturday’s qualifier with his price already down to $2.30 after some good early bets.
“Within minutes of the market opening we were taking bets for Noble Boy,” TAB’s Andrew Georgiou said.
“He has shown that he has returned to racing in brilliant style with his two wins in Highway company.
“Our customers haven’t wasted any time at all backing him for Saturday or for the Final in just over a month’s time.”
In the Final market (Pre Noms), Noble Boy accounts for 36 percent of the total investment with Awesome Pluck (17%) a clear second pick in that regard.
