TAB bookies have installed Noble Boy a $4.50 favourite to win the Newhaven Park Country Championships Final at Royal Randwick on April 6.

Queanbeyan trainer Todd Blowes has only had his trainer’s licence since December 2017, but already has a highly talented gelding in his stable with three wins from his first three starts.

“Noble Boy rounded them up in his first trip to town for a TAB Highway back in December, and that was enough for our bookies to install him as favourite to win the Final on Day 1 of The Championships”, TAB’s Gerard Middleton said.

“The south-east qualifier at Goulburn on March 2 is set to be particularly strong with horses from that region occupying three of the top four spots in the market, with the other being the Mudgee-based I Am A Cool Kid, trained by Gayna Williams.

“The six year old has had just the four starts due to a host of problems, but his talent was there for all to see at Randwick on Australia Day when he absolutely bolted in, and is almost certain to start favourite for the Central Districts qualifier on March 3.”

This market is likely to be affected this weekend when Noble Boy faces some strong competition in the TAB Highway at Warwick Farm.
