Singo might be upset about Gai Waterhouse picking barrier 11 for More Joyous but it hasn’t deterred punters with the champion mare firming from $10 into $9.00 with online bookmaker sportsbet to win Saturday’s Cox Plate.

Pierro remains favourite for the Group 1 but has eased from $3.60 out to $3.70, ahead of Green Moon ($5.00), Ocean Park ($5.50 out to $6.00) and Proisir ($8.00 out to $9.00).
With three of the top five in betting, sportsbet.com.au has opened a market pitting Waterhouse’s runners up against each other, tipping Pierro ($1.65) to have the measure of Proisir ($3.75) and More Joyous ($4.40).
“All of the runners ahead of More Joyous in the market have either eased or remained steady in the last 24 hours so that alone indicates there is good punter support for the super mare,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
“We’ve got More Joyous as the $4.40 outsider in a market against stalemates Pierro and Proisir. If anyone was going to make that look silly it’s her.”
Other notable moves in betting include All Too Hard firming from $11 into $10, Shoot Out tightening from $26 into $21 and Southern Speed moving from $41 into $34.
Sportsbet.com.au will refund punters their bet on the Cox Plate if their selection runs second in the race.
