Local hope Champagne Aunty has been best backed with Sportsbet.com.au for one of the features at Toowoomba on Saturday, the Toowoomba Cup (2000m).
Steve Tregea has been the form trainer from Toowoomba the past six months, most notably with boom horse Incentivise. But Champagne Aunty is another that has put together a sequence of wins before a down the track effort last Saturday over 1300m in what was more or less a barrier trial for this. Opened $3.60 and is now into $3.30.
The other hard in the market early is Wapiti, who sits at $4.50, slightly out from $4.20. Honorable Spirit, also accepted for the Lismore Cup on Thursday, is $4 in from $4.20.
