Che McPherson could be in for a life changing day at Flemington tomorrow.
A Cairns local and Border Force worker, McPherson is TAB’s All Star Mile ambassador and will be represented by Inspirational Girl in the feature over 1600 metres.
Should Inspirational Girl salute in the All Star Mile, part of McPherson’s prize will be a quarter of a million dollars!
In fact, he also warmed up for the day by backing her last start in the Blamey Stakes – where she beat the horse he originally voted for in the ambassador competition, Zaaki.
“I had my $10 on her so the fact she got up and won has put me in really good stead heading into the All Star Mile,” he said on SKY Racing1 this morning.
TAB are actually the defending champions in the All Star Mile with Mugatoo representing the company last year.
The Kris Lees-trained runner saluted for his owner ambassadors Matt and Amanda Forys, with the pair using the $250,000 first prize to help build their dream home.
McPherson has plans of his own which includes upgrading his caravan which he hopes will take he and his family up and down the east coast while a trip to the Northern Territory could be on the cards.
Che and his wife Amanda will be chaperoned on the day like VIPs with their itinerary including a visit to the Rooftop at Flemington, corporate hospitality and mingling with all the other owners represented by runners in the All Star Mile.
