Sale Race One Number 12 Anthemic ($3.20): I think he has to drift given the suspect form around him from the first prep. Hard in the market on debut at Echuca and didn’t fire, then went to Geelong, led, and tired late. Recent jumpout was okay without being great but I think there’s more substance in the form of both Prosecutor and Norah, so happy to oppose him.

Sale Race Five Number 9 Kamien ($2): Last start metro winner hence the price, but gee it’s short. Did win impressively at Sandown, but I think the race was set up for him that day and he took advantage. Blinder is a proven Saturday class horse and Howlowcanyougo was heavily backed in a Saturday metro race last time but didn’t fire. Think you could back both of those to beat Kamien.

Sapphire Coast Race Two Number 1 Alan ($2.90): Might well get the run of the race from the gate and get the cutaway, which has traditionally been gold at the track, but I just query how well he’s going. Thought he had every chance to wear down Vibrant Knight two back but whacked away late. Then went to Kembla and didn’t really fire. Depth nowhere near as strong this time around, but I think there’s good value around him so happy to take him on.
