Jameka’s impressive win in the Caulfield Cup has seen her odds slashed to complete the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup double.
The now dual Group One winner smashed her rivals by 5 lengths in a breathtaking performance yesterday.
Since winning the 2400m Caulfield Cup Jameka has moved in to the second line of betting with her odds shortening from $11 in to $6.00 with online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au.
Nick Hall gave the 4-year-old a the perfect ride in the $3,000,000 Caulfield Cup and will maintain the ride for the 2016 Melbourne Cup.
“She will win the Melbourne Cup, too, so I can’t wait to ride her then,” Hall said following the Caulfield Cup.
Col McKenna, the major stakeholder in Jameka, could not have been more confident of her Melbourne Cup chances.
“Just wait and see what she does in 17 days time,’ McKenna smirkingly said.
Trainer Ciaron Maher claimed that she may even run better at Flemington.
