Memsie winner and defending champ Humidor has already been backed to take out the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) this Saturday at Flemington.
The Darren Weir trained galloper showed he’s in a fab Spring after producing a brilliant finishing burst to grab the Memsie a fortnight back, just edging out Kementari ($3.50-$3.90) and King’s Will Dream ($4.50). He opened $4.40 and has firmed to $4.20 and could start favourite if the money continues.
The forgotten horse is clearly Happy Clapper, who didn’t handle the Caulfield track first up in the Memsie. The gate makes things tricky but seems good value at $7, out from $6.50.
There has been early specking for The Taj Mahal ($41-$34) and Tosen Basil at $35.
