The Shane Nichols runner was largely overshadowed in the betting by Sir Dragonet, Crosshaven and Imaging.
Streets Of Avalon ($7.50-$8.50) hovered around the same mark for most of the betting and under Zac Spain, kept kicking hard to hold off the finish of Imaging ($6.50-$5.50-$7) while Crosshaven ($3.90-$3-$3.10), which briefly hit favouritism, back in third.
The big disappointment was Sir Dragonet ($2.70-$3.10-$2.70) which was two-and-a-half times as popular as anything else in the race. The long-time favourite briefly lost top spot in betting to Crosshaven but a flood of money in the last 10 minutes saw him return to the top of the market.

Jamie Kah got the best out of the mare to hold off Bold Star ($17-$12) which also had been specked at the eachway odds. Garner ($7) filled third in front of the heavily tried fav Greyworm ($4-$4.20-$3.80) which went around with 33 percent of the total investment.
