HAWKESBURY
RACE FIVE
The big move for Sweet Deal paid dividends in the Killahy Equine Hawkesbury Crown (1300 metres).
Opening the day at $3.80, the John Thompson-trained mare was crunched into $2.80 equal favourite with Athiri.
The pair dominated the hold in the race and were responsible for 61 percent of the total investment.
Air To Air, which finished third, ran up to the support after being $14 on Wednesday and jumping an $8 chance today.
Of the rest, Wandabaa ($4.60-$8) blew significantly.
BETS: Sweet Deal $5,000 @ $2.80
BETS: Athiri $2,250 @ $2.80
RACE SIX – GOLD RUSH
There was good money all day suggesting Embracer would run a strong race in the Hawkesbury XXXX Gold Rush (1100 metres).
The gelding was backed from $5-$4.40 on the day and went around as the most popular runner in terms of money taken.
Out of the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott yard, Embracer was responsible for 21 percent of the market.
Adelong ($8.50-$7.50), which was $13 on Wednesday, gave her backers a good sight out in front. Inanup ($8.50-$9.50-$7-$7.50) also had plenty of admirers at the eachway price.
BETS: Embracer $1,000 @ $5, $1,500 @ $4.80, $1,000 @ $4.60
BETS: Adelong $1,000 @ $8

RACE SEVEN – BLACKTOWN WORKERS HAWKESBURY GUINEAS
Favourite backers were reeling when the heavily tried Ellsberg was knocked off in the Hawkesbury Guineas (1400 metres).
Hammered from even money this morning into as low as $1.80 before starting $1.95, Ellsberg held more than half the total investment on the race and had a stack of multis riding on his back.
In fact, he was four times as popular as the equal second pick in the market, Aim ($8).
Exoboom ($6-$8) had been specked earlier in the week but was mainly a drifter today thanks to the big money for the favourite.
BETS: Exoboom $1,000 @ $8
BETS: Ellsberg $1,400 @ $2, $2,222 @ $1.95, $3,000 @ $1.90, $7,500 @ $1.80
RACE EIGHT – EVERGREEN TURF HAWKESBURY GOLD CUP
Archedemus was pretty solid most of the day in the lead-up to the running of the Hawkesbury Gold Cup (1600 metres).
The Team Hawkes-trained galloper opened the day at $5.50 and jumped at $5 and although coming in for some support, went around as the fourth most popular runner behind Royal Celebration, Greysful Glamour and Purple Sector.
Royal Celebration ($2.90-$3) was the best go in the race, which started earlier in the week when $4.60 was available. He held over four times the money that the winner carried.
Of the others, Looks Like Elvis was a big firmer after being $11 in the morning. He jumped at less than half that quote and went around a $4.80 second favourite.
BETS: Archedemus $1,400 @ $6.50
BETS: Royal Celebration $3,000 @ $3
EAGLE FARM
RACE SEVEN – TREASURY BRISBANE QUEENSLAND GUINEAS
Private Eye was a very popular result with TAB customers in the Queensland Guineas (1600 metres).
The Joe Pride runner was easily the most popular runner in terms of money held, going around with nearly three times the amount of money than the eventual favourite, Apache Chase ($2.30).
Private Eye ($2.40) had been favourite at one stage of the day but a late rally for Apache Chase saw it head the market.
The pair were responsible for 71 percent of the total investment.
BETS: Private Eye $3,000 @ $2.40 TWICE, $2,500 @ $2.40, $2,250 @ $2.40, $2,000 @ $2.40, $2,500 @ $2.30
TAB VICTORY STAKES
Late money for Niccanova was spot on in the TAB Victory Stakes (1200 metres).
The Steve Tregea-trained galloper firmed $15-$12 pretty late in betting and with Jimmy Orman driving through on the inside lanes, the pair scored the upset.
Favourite backers were left empty-handed after Trekking ($2.10-$1.90-$2) and Fasika ($3.60-$2.80) were unplaced. Between them they held 77 percent of the total investment.

When markets were released several days ago, Instantly Celebrity was rated an $11 chance at TAB Fixed Odds.
The Phillip Stokes galloper was backed into $7 pretty quickly and that’s where she stayed for most of today, bottoming out at $6 briefly.
Jumping as an $8 shot, she was one of three runners to hold six figures with Mizzy ($6.50-$4.20) and Sisstar ($9.50-$13) the others. Mizzy was a big go in the final stages of betting while Sisstar had opened $7 favourite earlier in the week but was a constant drifter.
