TAB had a new 2021 Golden Slipper favourite after this morning’s barrier draw – but only for a matter of minutes.
Stay Inside, trained by Richard and Michael Freedman, firmed from $4.50 equal top pick into outright $4 favourite after coming up with barrier three. This meant Profiteer was pushed down to the second line after being unmoved at $4.50 when he drew gave five.
Just minutes after the draw was complete, however, one TAB customer put down $20,000 on Profiteer to win $90,000. That bet has meant a shuffle up again in the market with Profiteer now joining Stay Inside back as equal favourites.
Blue Diamond Artorius ($7-$8) went out a touch after coming up with barrier 13 while Four Moves Ahead ($9) is the only other runner in single figures.
