Gailo Chop heads Australian Cup markets
The powder is being kept well and truly dry by punters in the Australian Cup (2000m) this Saturday at Flemington, with nothing backed with confidence at this stage.
Favourite for the race is Gailo Chop, an impressive last start winner of the peter Young, but has eased out to $2.80 after opening $2.60. He holds the call over Melbourne Cup winner Almandin at $6, who did touch $5.50. Next best is stablemate The Taj Mahal, who is first up. He is at $7 and solid, in from $7.50.
Hartnell has been $7.50-$8 twice, while impressive first up winner Homesman has been $12-$11. There has been specking at longer odds for Ambitious ($26-$23) and Ventura Storm ($41-$31).
