Warwick Farm
$50 Win Mini Boom R3 @ $2.9 (TAB)
$50 Win Bare Naked Lady R5 @ $3.4 (Sportsbet)
Warwick Farm Overview:
Third event does look a race in two between California Salto and Mini Boom, with a leaning towards the latter for WaterBott. Debuted at Gosford over 1000m when on speed and fighting on well when third to Soul Soldier, with the runner up Catwalk winning impressively on Saturday at Randwick. Lands on speed and should be better for the run. The fifth event looks a race in two as well between Bare Naked Lady and Embrace. Hoping the former can hold up from the draw and land behind Embracer, getting last say. She’s been consistent this time in and is knocking on the door to win. Think she gets a great chance even though fav is hard to beat.
Sale
$100 Win Layel R5 @ $5 (TAB)
Sale Overview:
Hoping that Layel runs up to her trials, because if she does, she’ll just about be winning. Talented mare for the Price/Kent stable that is first up but has trialled up quite impressively on a couple of occasions at Caulfield, the latest coming last Tuesday on the Synthetic when wide no cover on speed but going through her gears under a nice hold. Has run well on wet ground before and though the trials have been soft, there has been a couple of them. Happy to find out at the odds on offer if she’s forward enough to win first up.
Belmont
$100 Win Scenic Journey R9 @ $4.4 (Neds)
Belmont Overview:
No surprise that this mare has been well supported already. Made her the best of the day and I think the set up is ideal. Is around three weeks between runs since racing on a soft track at Pinjarra where she just got too far back in the run but found the line with real purpose to run a narrow second over the mile, with her late splits being clearly the best of the race by some margin. On breeding, a wet track should be fine, Pike jumps on and I just think this is an idea set up. Pikey in the last…would be silly not to be on.
