Pakenham Synthetic Overview:
If Savannahlander handles the Synthetic, he should win the second. David Bourne trains this son of Jakkalberry, who has been excellent in two career runs. Debuted over 900m at Swan Hill, which was clearly too short, but loved the way he attacked the line. Then went to 1200m at Donald and he should have won. Just had no luck in the straight when having plenty to offer. Drawn out, so gets clear air, Melham on and the depth looks thin. Caffrey has the interesting breeding beside his name but looks above average judging on his debut win on the Ballarat Synthetic over 1200m. Took a while to get into his work but once he knuckled down, he put them away and was most impressive in winning. He’ll only get better with time, fitness and more ground so keen to see what he does here. Thurmanator is a Pakenham Synthetic specialist and he’ll love the step up to 2200m. He ran over the mile at the track last time where he got a fair way back in the run before eventually getting to the outside where he took forever to wind up, but did and surged hard to just miss out on the win, needing another stride to win. 2200m looks ideal, clearly likes the track and Mick Dee remains on. The horse in the last I like is Shezz Shuffling, mainly as a place chance so hoping she remains around the $3-$3.50 mark. Found the line okay here two back behind Sjnrise Dancer before stepping back to 1000m at Ballarat on the Synthetic where she got back and charged home late to run second to Coco Couture, admittedly the race was run to suit. Fast run 1000m looks her go in life and that’s the set up she’ll get here.
