Ballarat Synthetic Overview:
The Lindsey Smith pair both should win their respective maidens. Both debuted just over a week ago at Bendigo and both attacked the line with real purpose from off the pace, notably Saone, who should eat further than 1400m but looks to have a bit of class about her and should bolt up. Olympic Oath draws tricky, but finds a really thin maiden. They’re the morals. The two at a price are a throw at the stumps and not as much confidence, but I think Skarbek is over the odds at double figures. Thought she was very good first up at 1200m on the track, making up ground late before running out of room. Blinkers are on and she draws the inside gate, up in trip, plenty to like. No surprise to see British Isle specked from $51 into around $26. Just not sure he was happy on the sticky track fresh at Echuca, which followed an outstanding jumpout this track. Has had another jumpout here since and went like a jet. Think he’ll be around the $4-$5 mark for the place and I think you just need to be on to see if he can translate the trial form on this track to race day. If not, pen him.
