Ballarat
$100 Win Skiddaw R1 (Tote)
Ballarat Overview: Well done if you got the near $4 opening price. Looks the winner albeit a query on the Synthetic. This bloke hasn’t raced since debuting down the Flemington straight where he ran last in the small field but far from disgraced behind Free Of Debt, which is very good juvenile form. Has had a jumpout and trial in readiness, but was really taken by his Werribee trial win last week. He’s ready to go. $2.20 at the time of writing which does seem very short. Happy to take the tote.
Sha Tin
$50 E/W Limitless R11 (Tote)
Sha Tin Overview: Very interesting runner is this bloke, resuming for Caspar Fownes. Hasn’t raced since late January at Happy Valley where he bled behind Country Star, who was flying at the time. With these bleeders, it’ll either be a fantastic run first up or they’ll flop out the back and run last. He’s had three trials, two on the dirt, with a Happy Valley trial in between and that trial really caught my eye. Tucked in behind them throughout and the last 20m and through the line, once he got clear air, he charged through. Can see him sitting off a good speed and launching late and he does have wet track form from the UK, so if the track remains to have give in it, that’ll be no issue.
