This could be a day to throw trial form out the window.
Chris Waller will saddle up a filly called FIFTEEN ARIA (Fastnet Rock-O’Marilyn) in race two at Warwick Farm today and although on debut, she bears considerable watching.
Even though her trials suggest otherwise.
Last trial she was 4th. Before that she was 6th. Prior to that she was 7th of 9.
Each time she just went around for experience and I suspect a plunge will occur today.
James McDonald has the ride and he could have ridden the impressive stablemate CAPTIVARE (I Am Invincible-Captivating Claire) in the race.
That smart 3YO is owned by Coolmore and has run 2nd at his past two runs in this grade, last start when ridden by Jay Mac. He also cost $1.4million as a yearling so there exists a number of reasons to have the best associated with him.
So right there is a big push for this unraced filly Fifteen Aria…who cost owned Mr Yoshida $600,000 as a yearling when purchased from the Inglis Easter Sale ring.
Jock placements are always a major guide to which horse to back.
Fifteen Aria has drawn gate 3.
She has firmed from her opening quote of $8.50 to $6 on Palmerbet this morning.
Waller also saddles the heavily backed favourite named OVERLORD (Sebring-Red Tracer) who will be ridden by Hugh Bowman.
But something in me thinks this filly might beat both thoe fancied rivals home.
