Race Seven Number 2 Festivity (2nd):
I thought this mare was really good in defeat. Softened up in front by Magnajoy and really had every right to drop off, but she kicked on very strongly only to be bloused by Rule The River, who looks a Stakes class mare. Looking for 1200m-1300m now and she will be hard to beat next time out.

Race Four Number 10 Palentino (5th):
Was the only horse to sit wide no cover and win, and given it was just his third start, it was impressive, and you had to love the turn of foot he produced when asked by Michelle Payne. Looks the one to beat in the Sandown Guineas and could well develop into an Australian Guineas horse in the Autumn.
Race Seven Number 6 Magic Artist (4th):
Gee Kris Lees is going to have some fun with this horse. Should have won the McKinnon last weekend, then backed up here and was asked to make ground near the inside, which wasn’t the spot to be, yet he worked home well for fourth. Hopefully it isn’t a repeat of Protectionist.

Race One Number 3 Kristy Lee (Last):
Had the charmed run, but was beaten before the turn. Had enough of her now.

Race Three Number 5 Bold Sniper:
Looks a handy type physically, but he just has no idea what he is doing out on the track. Happy to leave him on the bench until further notice for now. He can win without me.
Race Five Number 1 Petrology (Last):
Easiest race he had contested in some time, but he didn’t go one yard in the conditions and was most disappointing. Can’t be trusted anymore.
We saw on Thursday that the fast lane was the outside fence, yet Olly decided to steer towards the inside despite jumping brilliantly. Thankfully for punters he got it right later on with Lucia Valentina.
