The 2YO Winners:
These races always produce well when it comes to the Slipper, and though it’s very early days, I think the winner of the Slipper will come from either Capitalist or Calliope. The former did it very easily under a hold while the filly produced an unbelievable run to get the chocolates. Both above average and will be winning good races.
Race Seven Number 12 Sons Of John (3rd):
Proved that his awesome run behind Winx in the Theo Marks was no fluke. He was only getting a kilo off Winx here, and yet for a few moments he looked the winner. Jason Attard has got this horse absolutely flying and surely he comes to Melbourne for the Emirates.
Flemington:
Race Seven Number 3 Hartnell (6th):
I thought he was very good in defeat. Second up in a hot WFA field and had to come from last on the turn. He is the horse who has the most upside from this race, so I am keen to see how he progresses as he heads towards the Melbourne Cup, but I loved his effort.
Race Eight Number 7 Jessy Belle (3rd):
Clearly should have won this race. Four and five wide no cover for the entire trip yet still had the hide to finish off the race as well as anything. Poor ride cost her the win, but she is ready to knock the door down.

Race Six Number 5 Foreteller (7th):
Maybe he might improve heading back to Melbourne, but his Sydney winning days are well and truly over.
Flemington:
Race Six Number 11 Cafe Society (Last):
Has done bugger all in three runs now on Aussie soil. Might be time to throw in the towel, sit back in the paddock and sip on a latte.
The United States, High Church, Rising Romance, Jessy Belle…Could go on. He’s a star, but this will be a weekend he’d like to forget. Several ordinary steers.
