Race Four Number 5 Mount Panorama (1st):
I think he is doing too much wrong now, but I think he could well be a star three year old. Had he jumped better, he would have sat much closer and not consumed as much petrol. His effort was outstanding.
Race Seven Number 12 Montaigne (3rd):
If there is going to be a challenger to Press Statement, it will be this bloke. Gee his run was very good, and without a great deal of luck. Look for him to be a massive threat in the Randwick Guineas.
Flemington:
Race Six Number 6 River Wild (8th):
Just a shame he missed the kick because I am certain he would have been in the finish had he jumped. His effort over the final 200m against the tempo was outstanding and is a real smokey for the Guineas.
Race Eight Number 15 Divan (2nd):
Looks set for a really good prep. Wide all the way yet kept surging late and was very strong through the line. If I was going to have a flutter on the Cup now, he’d be the horse at value.

Race One Number 1 Zoutenant (Last):
Not even Gai can weave enough magic to turn this horse around. He’s winning days, in town at least, are done.
Race Five Number 2 Catkins (Last):
Couldn’t have asked for a better run, but as the pressure came on, she was the first beaten. I think retirement would be best for her. Apart from a Group l, she has nothing left to prove.
Race Nine Number 7 Inside Job (11th):
Not sure why he was well backed…he has done nothing for a while now, and repeated the dose here.
All Clear:
Nearly could have said Caitlin Jones for her effort on Tidy Prophet, but I’ll let it slide.
