There was some great racing right across Australia on Saturday, with the highlight being the super win of Srikandi in the Tatts Tiara (1400m) at the Gold Coast. Who caught our attention on the track? Find out down below:

Race Eight Number 11 Ghost Protocol (5th):
Paul Perry trained galloper that was only second up here, and gee he caught my eye. Never really got a chance to fully wind up, but his last 250m or so was excellent. He’ll be better over further, and he just has so much upside. A coming winner for sure.
Gold Coast
Race Six Number 5 Shoreham (2nd):
First run for Gerald Ryan here and it was a beauty, coming from near to just miss out on victory. If there was a pre post market for the Grafton Cup, I’d be all over him. That’s his race to lose.

Race Six Number 2 Zaratone (4th):
The old boy still retains the zest for racing. But that zest just hasn’t resulted in a win. Had every chance in this race, but weakened late. Surely the punters will leave him be?
Gold Coast:
Race Four Number 1 Bachman (6th):
Questions have to be asked about this horse and how genuine he is. Loomed to win, but the head carry was high in the straight and he didn’t want to attack the line at all. I’ve had enough.
(In Group l races) Race Seven Number 4 Catkins (6th):
She’ll win pretty much every Group ll and Group ll races for the mares, but when it comes to the Group l’s…she just doesn’t stand up. Maybe bad luck, maybe a poor ride threw away her chances, but this is eight times now she has started in a major and has yet to greet the judge, so for mine, she’s banned when it comes to the Group l races.
