Off the back of an impressive first up third in the Manfred Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield, the Tony McEvoy trained three year old has been best backed early on with Sportsbet.com.au to take out the CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) this Saturday at Flemington.
The Bill Stutt Stakes winner sat near the speed first up and stuck on really well when running third to Legless Veuve. He has a really good second up record and draws a lovely gate. He opened the $4.40 favourite and is now clearly at the top of betting after firming to $4.
Another class three year, Seaburge, who is first up, has had support also, into $4.40 from $4.50. Morton’s Fork has been a slight drifter, out to $6 from $5.50.
Land Of Plenty ($11-$9.50-$10) had had admirers at a price.
