Sportingbet cut the odds of Dissident from $17 to $10 where he shares favouritism with Makybe Diva runner-up Fawkner, who firmed from $21.
“Both horses were outstanding and deserve their place at the top of Cox Plate betting after those runs,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“Fawkner had the harder run so it will be interesting to see if the punters target him over Dissident.”
Earlier, Commanding Jewel firmed from $23 to $19 for the Sportingbet Cox Plate after winning the Let’s Elope Stakes.
