Last 10 Days: LLLWWLLLLL
Overall Results (Since June 7): $5677 Profit
Bet One- Each Way- Geelong Race One Number 1 Prinz Hlodowig:
Just hoping he doesn’t give away too much start. He’s done that at his past couple, firstly at Mornington behind Steel Prince before going to Bendigo and working home well late behind Not An Ambiturner. Smaller field, so hopefully he isn’t far away in the run. I think $8+ is more than acceptable.
Suggested Bet: $20 Win/$30 Place at $8/$2.35 (Sportsbet)
Bet Two- Each Way- Geelong Race Four Number 2 Gold Fields:
Attempted to lead all the way over the 1550m on the Parks track in Adelaide last time and he gave a decent enough kick when asked for the big effort but couldn’t quite finish it off when fourth to Adatto. Senior jock back on and should get a good run on the pace. I think he’ll give a great sight in front.
Suggested Bet: $10 Win/$20 Place at $14/$4 (BetEasy)
Bet Three- Each Way- Geelong Race Six Number 5 Ligulate:
Clearly the forgotten horse IMO. Doesn’t have the A1 form compared to most of these, but he’s got the upside and is in the right stable. Ran over 1870m at Newcastle last Tuesday where he got back off the pace but worked home strongly when third to Semper Fidelis. Good draw, Bowman on and up in trip looks a big tick. $14+ is overs.
Suggested Bet: $20 Win/$40 Place at $14/$3.75 (Bet365)
Bet Four- Each Way- Geelong Race Seven Number 4 Wall Of Fire:
The price of Withhold is gone, so I think each way you can back this horse. The Maher/Eustace team is flying and this bloke looks set up to run really well third up. He ran in the St Leger at Randwick last time and was very good off a moderate tempo when fourth to stablemate Big Blue. He’ll be much better suited on firmer footing and I think he’s clear overs.
Suggested Bet: $10 E/W (Tote)
Bet Five- Each Way- Geelong Race Eight Number 11 Teleplay:
Not the strongest of mares races and I think she’s clearly on the up. Jumped out well prior to resuming in a field of seven at Ballarat where she looked in a sticky spot early on but once she got clear air, it was game over and she won with class/authority. Up to 1200m looks beneficial as should the more genuine tempo.
Suggested Bet: $25 E/W Place at $8.5/$2.8 (BetEasy)
Total Spend: $210
