Bet One- Win- Newcastle Race Three Number 1 Given Time:
I think anything over black figures is fine. Ran over 1500m here last time and you could make a case he should have won. Just had no luck when J Mac was looking to build the revs and arguably should have beaten Homework. Reckon he wants further than the extra 100m, but the depth looks thin and he looks to have good upside.

Bet Two- Each Way- Newcastle Race Four Number 1 Spring Charlie:
Surprised he isn’t shorter in betting. He should have just about won last time at Gosford but a combo of a slow tempo and the tight track played against him late but surged hard to just miss. 1400m on the bigger track and fourth up, he should be at peak fitness. Looks to get run of the race stuff from the gate, I’m keen on him.

Bet Three- Each Way- Newcastle Race Seven Number 11 Seel The Deal:
I think he’s definitely worth an each way ticket at double figures. Debuted on July 21 at Kembla Grange where he got back to near last in the run but had to like the way he closed his race off when third to Sydney Blue, despite doing a bit wrong in the straight. 1400-1300 is the negative, but happy to have something on each way in an open maiden.

Bet Four- Win- Townsville Race One Number 2 You Know The One:
Happy to have something on him to knock off the fav. This bloke bolted up over 1000m here last time, really charging to the line with purpose when asked for the big effort by Whiteley. Just has to tick the 1200m box but if he can, I reckon with fitness on his side, he can give the fav a real run for his money.

Bet Five- Each Way- Bairnsdale Race Four Number 12 Mrs O’Malley:
I think she’s nearly the bet of the day. Has done plenty wrong/had no luck in both career outings, starting on the Geelong Synthetic before going to the Pakenham Synthetic where you could make a case she should have won but had no luck in the straight behind Inglesias. On the turf now and third up, she should know what the caper is about by now.
