Coffs Harbour
$100 Win Raiden R7 @ $3.4 (TAB)
Coffs Harbour Overview:
Raiden is a son of Foxwedge for Kris Lees who has come back in really good order and has switched on since coming to Queensland. Ran over 1000m at Eagle just over two weeks ago and I thought off a moderate tempo he was a real eye catcher, closing off with purpose late to run a close up fourth to Crusher. If this was 1100m/1200m, he’d be an absolute moral. Just worried 1000m might be that fraction too sharp but has lengths on these re class and has carried 60.5kg to win in the past, so the weight no issue, and pace should be brutal.
Geelong
$20 Win/$80 Place Hadid R3 @ $8.5/$2.6 (BetEasy)
Geelong Overview:
Tricky meeting at Geelong but I think there’s a really good each way play in the shape of Hadid, who resumes in the third for Mark Young. Had one start in the first prep, which came at Stawell back in October where she ran a solid third to Kent Street in a race which has produced six winners, including the handy Du To Pass. There’s already been market support for her and her March 12 Camperdown jumpout looked very encouraging to the eye. Stable stats say no to first up runners, but want to take a chance on her at the odds.
