Resident tipster Adam gives his betting strategy for Tuesday’s (21/8/2018) racing around the country. Note that the prices quoted were available at the time of writing.
Monday Results: $200 Profit
Last 10 Days: LWWWWLWLLL
Overall Results (Since June 7): $1736 Profit
Three race meetings set down for Tuesday, and overall it looks a pretty tough afternoon. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.
Bet One- Each Way- Muswellbrook Race Two Number 13 Yulong Jupiter:
Pretty open race but I think double figures, this filly can run well on debut. Gary Portelli trains her. Has had four career trials to date, with two of those coming this prep. The first of which came over 900m before stepping up to the 1030m where she closed off okay. Been given a solid enough grounding and could have something on each way at the price.
Suggested Bet: $15 E/W (Tote)
Bet Two- Each Way- Muswellbrook Race Four Number 12 Fast Train:
This is one horse who is definitely over the odds IMO. Gerald Ryan trains this colt, who debuted at Goulburn where he just got too far out of his ground but I liked the way he picked up late when eventually clear to run fourth to Partners. Sweetest Eyes, who ran third, has since won at Kembla, so the form reads well for this.
Suggested Bet: $25 E/W at $8.5/$2.8 (BetEasy)
Bet Three- Win- Albury Race Four Number 1 Disturbance:
He’s the bet of the day for mine. Former kiwi who had his first Australian run for the Joseph/Jones team at Moruya where he got well off the speed and was forced the widest on the turn but once he balanced up, he was a clear blackbooker behind a city class horse in Budderoo Knight. Senior jock on, 1500m yes, wet track no drama…if you go through his NZ form, has the names of Redefine and William Wallace, both proven city horses. Just wins IMO.
Suggested Bet: $100 Win at $3.4 (Sportsbet)
Bet Four- Each Way- Pakenham Race Four Number 11 Mrs O’Malley:
I think if she puts it all together, she should prove very hard to beat. Was backed as if unbeatable when debuting over 1100m at GEelong on the Synthetic but was disinterested for the most part until the last 150m where she really warmed to the task and hit the line hard to run fourth. Extra 100m and the bigger track will certainly help her cause.
Suggested Bet: $25 E/W at $6.5/$2.25 (BetEasy)
Bet Five- Each Way- Pakenham Race Six Number 9 My Aim Is True:
Handy mare resuming for the Hayes/Dabernig team. Hasn’t raced since late February at Wodonga when running a solid enough fourth but did look like a tired horse. Been given a good break, recent jump out was encouraging and her best recent form has come on the Synthetic, along with the claim for Lewis German, I think she can only run well.
Suggested Bet: $10 E/W at $9.5/$2.80 (BetEasy)
Total Spend: $250
