Bet One- Each Way- Muswellbrook Race Six Number 10 What Could Be:
I think the double figures on offer is more than acceptable and you’ll probably get better by jump time. Proven city performer who hasn’t raced since June 30 at Newcastle when producing one of the runs of the day from the back behind Kotinos. Looks to be good speed here, so he’ll get his chance to run on and is a good fresh horse.
Suggested Bet: $5 E/W (Tote)
Bet Two- Win- Sandown Race One Number 2 Sea King:
If it was a wet track, he’d be $1.01 to win. Dealing with a dry track, which is the concern, but he’s been a mighty jumper for a number of years now and should take some beating. Ran so bravely in the Mosstrooper but was no match for Wells, who has been scratched, which makes the task easier. Looks a race in two between he and Monarch Chimes.
Suggested Bet: $10 Win (Crownbet)
Bet Three- Win- Sandown Race Five Number 1 Self Sense:
Black figures will do me for a horse who probably should and will start odds on. He’s the best hurdler we’ve got in Australia and there is talk he could well go to the iconic Cheltenham Festival next year. Spanked them two back in the Kevin Lafferty before going back to the flat last Saturday and winning so impressively in the VOBIS Gold Stayers. Clean jumping and he’ll be too good.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win at $2 (William Hill)
Bet Four- Win- Sandown Race Six Number 13 Kentucky Diva:
Potential and ability, she’s the best horse in this race and if she turns up fit and well, I think she wins. Loved the way she toughed it out two back to win the maiden at Hawkesbury before racing at Warwick Farm where she had no luck at all behind Follow Suit. Key to this girl is getting her clear air early and building the revs. If that eventuates, she wins.
Suggested Bet: $20 Win (Tote)
Bet Five- Win- Devonport Race Five Number 10 Fontein Ali:
Speedonova looks a moral in the first but likely to be deep in the red. Hoping we get a reasonable price about this girl, who is bursting to win her maiden and I think she gets her chance here. Ran over the 1350m here last Sunday where she got a mile off them in the run but had to like the way she closed off late to run second. Rise to the mile looks ideal, has upside and finds a winnable race.
Suggested Bet: $10 Win (Tote)
Total Spend: $100
