Hawkesbury
$20 Win Onthetake R3 @ $2.7 (Neds)
$15 Win Angel Of Truth R7 @ $9.5 (Sportsbet)
$15 Win Road To Heaven R7 @ $7.5 (Sportsbet)
$50 Quaddie= 62.50% (6/4-6-9-11/1-4-5-8/1-2-5-6-8)
Hawkesbury Overview:
I think Onthetake is a good thing and only bad will beat her. Unfortunately she got nothing but bad luck first up and should have been in the finish but had no real clear air to let down. Small field, bigger track, she should bounce back. The Provincial Championship Heat sees two horses I want to back, Angel Of Truth and Road To Heaven. Angel Of Truth is a Gwenda Markwell trained three year old who was very good first up on his home track at Kembla Grange and looked to have clear improvement to come. On paper, tricky draw, but drawing wide at Hawkesbury ain’t a negative. Road To Heaven is first up for Kris Lees and has looked really good in a couple of trials. Avdulla on, should get cover midfield/touch worse and launch late.
Coffs Harbour
$45 Win Tarbert R5 @ $4.4 (Bet365)
$55 Win Alternative Facts R6 @ $2.6 (Bet365)
Coffs Harbour Overview:
Note that 365 was the only bookie with odds up at the time of writing. Think there are two good things at Coffs, starting with Tarbert. He had a little freshen up before racing over 1200m on his home track at Grafton and I thought he was outstanding in winning, charging home off the speed to get the job done, with improvement to come. Potentially on the path to the Grafton Qualifier for the Country Championships and the start prior, he was dynamic here, so really keen on him. Best of the day is Alternative Facts, another potentially on the Country Championships path. This girl has contested two Highways at her last two starts and has had no luck in either, firstly behind I Am A Cool Kid at Randwick before being desperately unlucky at Warwick Farm behind Noble Boy. Wouldn’t have won but should have placed. Home track, soft draw and given the way she’s going and what she’s faced, she’s so well in at the weights and I think only bad luck will beat her.
