Thursday Results: $138 Loss
Last 10 Days: LLLWLWLWWW
Overall Results (Since June 7): $5154 Profit
Bet One- Win- Tuncurry Race Three Number 1 Starvino:
I find him a fascinating runner. Kim Waugh trains this gelding, who resumes after a 36 week break, where he last raced over the mile at Newcastle when third to Greenspan. Looked to be wound right up in a Gosford trial, winning by six but was pushed out. Looks as if he’ll lead for fun. The one to beat and one of the best of the day.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Bet Two- Win- Cairns Race Two Number 5 Perfectionist:
Just needs a slice of luck from the tricky draw and I think he’ll be too good. Ran over 1300m at Townsville where he was given a peach by Whiteley from the gate and he looked home but was nabbed late by Fox Street. Ideally, from the gate, I’d love to see him ridden a touch cold, and the form out of that last start has been very good since.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Bet Three- Each Way- Cairns Race Three Number 4 Man Around Town:
Looks a pretty solid open sprint and I’m happy to have something small each way on this bloke. He comes through the Cairns Newmarket where I thought Swaffer gave the gelding a lovely ride. Was there to win on the turn but a hard 1400m is too far. Fresh, back to 950m, blinkers on and Wiseman back on, he can be a big improver.
Suggested Bet: $10 E/W (Tote)
Bet Four- Win- Canberra Race Three Number 3 Supreme Polarity:
I think he’s a great bet here. Had his first run for Nick Olive a couple of weeks back over 1080m here where he sat up on speed under Billy Owen and despite being under pressure and seemingly gone, he lifted hard late and surged to get the win. He’ll only improve off that. Just has to overcome the sticky gate.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Bet Five- Win- Canberra Race Seven Number 1 Breezesun:
I think he just has to carry the 61.5kg and he’ll be winning for mine. Four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance in a maiden where Heywood had him parked off the pace and once he popped into clear air, it was game over and he dashed right away. The depth here doesn’t appear overly strong, so keen on his chances.
Suggested Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Total Spend: $220
