Avilius has shot to second favouritism in Caulfield Cup markets

After the racing on Saturday, there was considerable change in the Tab.com.au all in market for the Caulfield Cup (2400m).

Kings Will Dream was a dominant $4.60 top elect to win prior to Saturday but in the Makybe Diva, he was seemingly well held into second by the Mick Price trained Grunt ($34-$13). His price has just been pushed out to $5.

Since Grunt’s win news has broke that he is unlikely to head to the Caulfield Cup despite sitting third in betting.

That’s because most eyes were on the slashing win in the Kingston Town by the James Cummings trained Avilius, who is now at $8 after being $13 prior to the race.

Brinham Rocks ($101-$51), Jon Snow ($51-$26) and Egg Tart ($26-$17) all firmed after eye catching efforts.
