Apollo Stakes: Verry big go on Caulfield Cup winner

Verry Elleegant has been heavily backed throughout betting on the Apollo Stakes

Champion mare Verry Elleegant has been the key firmer with Sportsbet.com.au for the Apollo Stakes (1400m) this afternoon at Randwick.

The multiple Group l winner resumes and has looked great in trials and in a piece of work last Saturday. $4.20 was her opening price and that has been crunched with the aid of a wet track she is into $2.60 and by far the best backed runner despite returning from her run in the Melbourne Cup.

Funstar was favourite in the all in market earlier this week but has been easy, opening $4.60 and now sitting at $5.50. Another Waller runner has firmed in the market, with Kolding opening $5 and got to as much as $6 before trimming to $4.60. Now with a wet track, he’s now at $4.80 and could well drift further if the track gets worse.
